My main focus this week was developing the course pages on the new website. I wanted to differ the design of the pages a bit from the four main pages on the menu bar. The way I differed the pages was using a different header. I like the design of the white overlay because I feel like it looks like clouds. Under the first and main block, there is the teaser video and then next I wanted to find a unique way to incorporate the…Continue Reading “Week 19: Course Pages”

My focus of this week was completely recreating the website. I used the main steps of the tutorial I watched last week and I made the website unique. First, I created a completely blank new sub-domain so I wouldn’t worry about messing anything up on the one already created and also in case I did not like the new website created. Elementor, the plugin I used, is based on a page of block segments that flow together to create a page. Each main page (except…Continue Reading “Week 18: The New Website!”

This week focused on continuing to update and edit the long videos of professors and students for the interactive grid and course pages. The rest of the week was spent trying to update my sub-domain and also creating ideas for the Full Spectrum Learning Site. Ruthie sent me an awesome YouTube tutorial that explains each step in making a site with Elementor. I tried to update my sub-domain using these tricks. However, I encountered a bit of an issue. It is very hard to use…Continue Reading “Week 17: Updating the Website”

Lately, it seems like each day I work, I develop a different version of the color grid. I updated the gray version and added a bit of glow around the intersections along with the axes. I feel like this made the intersections pop out a bit more. The other development I made was creating the rectangular version of the block grid. This grid shows the difference in colors more clearly as the mix of engagement and technology differs.  I have also worked on a few…Continue Reading “Week 16: Another Week, Another Color Grid and a New Logo”

This week officially ended the first semester for me at St. Norbert and also the end of the first semester of work for Full Spectrum Learning. Through this semester I have continued to work towards my four goals and accomplished some things I was not expecting. The main thing I was not expecting to experience were different presentations. I have had the opportunity to present on two different occasions. The first and major presentation was for the St. Norbert Board of Trustees and it was…Continue Reading “Week 15: End of the First Semester”

The main focus of this week has been continuing to add color to grid. I experimented with the colors of the text to help it pop out of the grid a bit more and make it easier to read. The major difference I made was darkening the background color of the grid to help the colors pop. I also experimented with the color swatch and turning that into a grid format to really show the blend of color and also the different colors of each…Continue Reading “Week 14: More Experimenting with Colors”

The main focus of this week was the intersections. This meant focusing on the mix of both of the axies of the grid and where they meet.  At the beginning of the week, I helped to make an animation of the grid showing the intersection of engagement and technology for the professor videos. This video really helped me to visualize the combination and necessity of both axes instead of only focusing on one. The rest of the week was spent naming all of the other…Continue Reading “Week 13: Adding a Touch of Color”

Week 11 consisted of a major project of simplifying the language on the grid and also refilming an interview of Dr. Riggle. Two Audiences The major obstacle for the Full Spectrum Learning website is the idea of having two different audiences to understand the material. The first audience is the more general and everyday person while the second audience is the in-depth academic audience. Therefore, all of the videos, pages, and language have to be able to appeal to both audiences. Simplifying the Grid Full Spectrum…Continue Reading “Week 11: Recreating Simplifying the Grid”

The main project I helped on this week was editing the footage we shot for the first video for the grid. Ruthie mainly edited and created the first teaser video, however, I helped her to refine the video and edited the full-length interviews. This work was very tedious and also time-consuming. The rest of the week was spent reading and exploring different research and studies behind Full Spectrum Learning focusing on one square of the grid. One of the studies was based on TPCK and…Continue Reading “Week 10: Research and Video Editing”

As anyone who has worked on creating a responsive website knows, tables are not always your friends. This fact is especially true on the Full Spectrum Learning site due to how wide the table is with all of the content. To combat this problem, I decided to use a media query and CSS to eliminate the table on the mobile version and to create a more mobile-friendly view. On the mobile view, our team decided to name each intersection and call the videos by their…Continue Reading “Week 9: Creating a Responsive Table”
