My main focus this week was developing the course pages on the new website. I wanted to differ the design of the pages a bit from the four main pages on the menu bar.
The way I differed the pages was using a different header. I like the design of the white overlay because I feel like it looks like clouds.
Under the first and main block, there is the teaser video and then next I wanted to find a unique way to incorporate the content of the class. I came up with a block that has two different columns; one column is about the main engagement aspect of the class and the other column is about the technology aspect.
The next section of the page stumps me a bit. I am hoping that it can feature a video of the grid animation of the intersection with a voice over of what that intersection truly represents.
The last block of the website also focuses on two different columns. These two columns place the professor and student reactions of the class videos next to each other.
The main idea I am struggling with is where to incorporate any “eclectic” and more educational materials for professors and more professional visitors to the site.
Here is the link to Dr. Riggle’s Educational Psychology Site.
On the website, I also added a block to the homepage that is a direct link to the interactive grid.
The rest of the week was spent digging into the first week of DigPins (you can read my blog for that here).
Ruthie also shared the Teaching in Higher Ed Podcast with me and I also (finally) was able to watch the Stanford Prison Experiment and deepen my understanding of the necessity of research and especially research ethics.
