A few
brief updates on some earlier posts:
- If you enjoyed reading about my encounters with Caravaggio in Crowning Glory, you can now see our student photographer’s process for yourselves. This video documenting the making of the “Crowning with Thorns” is published in our new issue, out this week.
- Speaking of the new issue, we cheated and put an animal on the cover.
It’s a very little one, a sparrow. I ran the cover past Dale Keiger, resident curmudgeon of the college editing community, and he pronounced it acceptable. In fact, I’ll reproduce the complete text of his e-mail here: “Acceptable. D.” - In Mississippi Learning, June 17, I wrote that our mag is now on show in an exhibit at Missisisippi Delta University. Mag content will also be featured in an upcoming exhibit at the Neville Museum, Green Bay. The exhibit, “MuseumPLACE: A Celebration of Community,” will include our video stories on the Sensenbrenner time capsule; on our geology professor’s discovery of a new prehistoric species; and possibly more.
