The shoot we planned for the Alumni News page didn’t work out, and the plan B wasn’t making anyone happy. Too late for a plan C, we thought. But that was when John Cavera ’60 and his wife, an alum of John Carroll University, dropped into our laps – or, at least, their photo did.
It’s not just that they’re a charming couple. It’s that they’re the embodiment of our big football rivalry of this season – and that evidently doesn’t bother them one whit.
St. Norbert played its season-opener against John Carroll in Dublin, Ireland, this year – and that’s a story in itself. The Caveras flew to the game with the John Carroll contingent but, once in Dublin, they ran into Ann Schlueter, mother of our defensive back Joe Schlueter ’14.
