Our friend Tony Walter (and a 1969 alum of St. Norbert) published his final column in yesterday’s Green Bay Press-Gazette. Summing up his 45-year career with great perspective, he keeps it real with this perfect anecdote:
“Speaking to a second-grade class … after returning from Los Angeles where I received a national sportswriting award, and feeling full of myself, I told the children about the importance of my work and the paper.
“A student raised her hand and asked, ‘Did you ever get a paper cut?’ “
