Between the Covers

Well, my summer’s reading is set. There’s a towering stack of books in the corner of my office, gathered in anticipation of a photo shot Monday and, once that’s over, I can’t wait to get stuck in.

For one of the features in our summer issue, we’ve asked select faculty members to recommend two books to our readers: one in their field, one in anything but. There are books on motorbikes, mayhem and murder; goodness and strife; two out of the three unmentionables (politics and religion); computing, digesting, investigating and horse-stealing. It’s a whole new glimpse into our faculty’s lives, and I hope readers will get as much pleasure from this piece as I am in anticipating it.
