In this post I will be explaining the Sex Role Traits of Fangs Fogerty the Main Character in the teen Drama Riverdale using the Items of the Bem Sex Role Inventory.
Fangs Fogerty is one of the main character in the show Riverdale. Throughout the 4 seasons we have see Fangs be involved in the Southside Serpents and then with the harvesting cult “The Farm”. Below I am going to break down some of the traits into feminine and masculine columns and explain with each word from the Items of the Bem Sex Role Inventory, and why it applies to him.
Feminine
Gullible – Fangs is someone who needs to have a leader to follow. He is not someone who stands up for himself. He is someone who is always going to do what is told even if that is something that is dangerous and questionable.
Loyal- Fangs is someone who is always going to do what is best for the group he is apart of. When he was a serpent he was loyal to them, when he was a member of the farm he was loyal to them even with betraying his love interest Kevin.
Sympathetic- He is someone who is always trying to fix his problems he has caused, he is very sorry for the very mistakes he has made and tries to amend all his wrongs.
Masculine
Ambitious- Fangs is always trying be in the hot topic or in what is popular. He is trying to make himself in the drama and what is of topic.
Masculine- He is someone who in the Southside Serpents and is a someone who is muscular in appearance.
Willing to take risks- He is someone who is willing to take a risk and is someone who we see take a risk with Midge by having a secret relationship with her,
In conclusion
Fangs is someone who leans more towards the feminine side of things according to the Bem Sex Role inventory list. He is someone who is emotional and does what others tell him to do.
