This right here is an advertisement from Polo Ralph Lauren for Women’s clothing. When I searched up shirts these are the first few pictures that came up. Compared to the men’s ad, all of the women’s shirts have 3 or 2 buttons down when they really should not because these are professional blouses and shirts. I feel that this was done intentionally for the sex appeal where as a man really does not have to have a few buttons down for them to appear “sexy”. The sex role theory is shown here because the women look shy and reserved but also feminine and compassionate because of their faces. The first model has a laid back look and she looks very approachable. The last three models look yielding and cautious and feminine. Also for the third model, her neck seems to be very focused because not only is the blouse deep cut but it has a long necklace which puts more focus on the women’s chest and neck.
