This is an ad from Nike.com for a woman’s shirt. Here, the model is expressing many feminine traits such as looking away from the camera, being shy, looks soft spoken, looks warm. She is someone that looks approachable and could be a friend. Although she looks a bit scared, not sure why. This relates to the sex role theory because it exemplifies what society sees a woman as, she is not seen as an athlete she is seen as a woman first. She is modeling Nike clothing yet she looks unsure and unconfident. She looks dependent on someone. Unlike the man in the Nike ad in my next post, she is most definitely not showing signs of independence, she looks scared and unsure.
