This is an ad from Nike.com for a mans hoodie. Here, the model seems mysterious and confident. He is expressing traits of masculinity such as looking athletic, looking like he can take risks, looking self sufficient and masculine and he looks competitive as well. According to the BEM sex role analysis, he would be considered masculine. This connects to the sex role theory because he is highlighting what a man is. He is confidently looking at the camera, staring at is as his hoodie is up because of his confidence, he looks intimidating. If a woman were to do the same exact poses I think the reaction would be different because she is a woman but for a man looking like that in to the camera is seen completely normal.
