Examples of Masculine Personality Traits Exhibited by Macy Vaughn:

  • Analytical: Macy and Dr. Wagner experiment with a cure for stripping demonic cells from a rat, and Macy finds out that her demonic side isn’t genetic, but rather an “infection” introduced into her bloodstream. She also later tests pixie dust for certain types of pheromones to see if they can track the pixie named Chloe causing supernatural trouble in this episode.
  • Assertive/Independent: Macy explains to her sisters that she doesn’t like the feeling that Galvin needs to save and protect her from her demon side, and remains adamant that she and Dr. Wagner can figure it out with science, rather than risk a dangerous magical ritual that Galvin learned from the spirit of his grandmother.

Examples of Feminine Personality Traits Exhibited by Macy Vaughn:

  • Yielding: Macy is letting more of her guard down with Galvin, and allows him to assist her with doing more investigation into her demonic side, and they go to the psychic Mama Roz to contact his grandmother from the other side for help.
  • Compassionate: Macy lets Maggie vent to her about her complicated feelings for Parker, who brings to the Charmed Ones’ attention the mysterious death of a film student that may have been supernaturally motivated.
  • Sympathetic: Macy is receptive and kind toward Chloe the pixie’s situation of having been stripped of her agency and forced by a human to kill a film student.
  • Affectionate: Macy lets her guard down completely with Galvin after he tells her that he loves her, and they then sleep together for the first time.

Conclusion: Macy was less present in this episode, but this does not make her character arc less meaningful. This is the first time that Macy as a character has displayed more feminine traits than masculine in an episode, and it is certainly no coincidence that this is the episode that Macy fully becomes vulnerable with Galvin and takes their relationship to the next step. However, this development has occurred right before Galvin goes on a trip to try and figure out what this ritual entails to help Macy, so it will be interesting to see how his sudden absence affects Macy as a character. Will she put her walls back up or not?
