Because Anck-Su-Namun and Imhotep are not featured in the final film of the franchise this week’s posts will be dedicated to how their relationships with the protagonists may or may not uphold gender stereotypes.
Anck-Su-Namun and Evelyn’s relationship is in pure conflict. They have very few face-to-face interactions, but when they do a fight or violence is the result. They are the only two females with speaking roles in the first two films and they are pitted against each other.
Their relationship upholds gender stereotypes by putting the two speaking females in conflict. They are unable to interact outside of the conflict.
