Their relationship upholds the gender stereotype of alpha males. Imhotep and Rick only have a few more face-to-face interactions than Anck-Su-Namun and Evelyn, but their interactions have more impact and are typically the climatic or plot driving scenes. Rick and Imhotep are both the leaders of their groups and shown as dominant. They both have weaker male sidekicks that they are visually taller and larger than.
