In Season one, episode four, of New Girl, Jesse walks in on Nick (her roommate) naked. He refuses to discuss what happened but, Jesse thinks it is important to talk about what happened. Jesse brings home a “feeling stick” and hands it to Nick to give him an opportunity to say what he would like. Instead, Nick takes the stick and breaks it in half. This shows the stereotype of men are not allowed to discuss their feelings and that women always want to discuss their feelings.
