Does this episode pass the Bechdel test? Nope. Not even close. Why? Because not one scene in this episode is there two women present. Skyler is the main focus of the episode, as she and Walt get into a large argument about what he has been hiding from her, and why he has two cell phones. One for personal, and one for his drug deals and to talk to his business partner Jesse. Skyler goes against a lot of feminine stereotypes in this episode. She is very straight forward about Walt when they are arguing, speaking very passive-aggressively and demanding the truth. She even swears at him and instead of being the nurturing person in an argument, she is very stand-offish and doesn’t seem to care one bit about Walter’s lies. Normally, a more feminine trait would be to be a good listener, and more understanding and empathetic during an argument, however, Skyler was livid at her husband in this episode. At the end of the episode, she lights a cigarette in her car. This majorly went against feminine stereotypes because Skyler is pregnant! Lighting a cigarette is not nurturing at all, in fact, it is more selfish than anything.
