During this episode, there was a company wilderness retreat with branch managers and Toby, Michael was not invited. Michael then sets out on his own wilderness retreat by himself to prove that he can survive in the wilderness. Dwight is watching him the whole time but he does not know it.
Masculine Traits-
- After Phyllis said that she took climbing lessons, Michael started bursting out with laughter.
- During an interview with Toby, Michael interrupts the interview and says “nobody cares! Nobody cares!!”
- Michael is doing a vlog of his experience. When the video camera is on him, he is trying to sound smart and like he knows everything about surviving. He says “the sun is in the 2/3 easterly quadrant.” This means nothing.
Feminine Traits-
- At the end of the episode, Michael talks to Jim about the day that he had. Jim tried to do a joint birthday party and Michael talks him through his tough time.
- Michael sings happy birthday to Creed in the middle of the forest where nobody can hear him. This was a sweet sentiment.
One note about this episode is that the entire episode is Michael trying to prove that he is good at something and trying to prove it. So the entire episode would be considered a masculine trait.
