In this post I will be explaining the Sex Role Traits of Penelope Blossom one of the Main Character in the teen Drama Riverdale using the Items of the Bem Sex Role Inventory.

 

Penelope Blossom  is one of the main character in the show Riverdale. Throughout her time on the 4 seasons we have seen her develop as the mean mother and wife to the vengeful and murderous leader of the Gargoyles. For all she has put her children through and with her husband and the tragedies that strike Riverdale she has some very strong traits that I’m excited to uncover.

 

Feminine 

Loyal- Penelope is someone who is loyal to whoever is goin to benefit her. She is someone who stood by her side while her husband was a maple syrup drug dealer. She also is involved with the black hood and eventually ends up killing him.

 

Feminine- Penelope is someone who is always hair done and dressed like she works in congress. She is always hair up red lipstick on and tight cloths with feminine qualities.

 

Compassionate- She is someone who is Compassionate about what she believes in and who she believes in. She has a period where she is involved with the Hal Cooper aka. the black hood and then eventually the Gargoyle Gang. She is responsible for his death and eventually the destruction of the entire friend group.

 

Masculine 

Assertive- When she is mad and wants what she wants there is nothing going to stop her. She is going to run things he way, she wants to poison and get rid of her family so she can run the family drug dealing business and profit for herself.

 

Dominant- She starts up a brothel that specializes in women dominatrix. So I would say thats pretty dominant. She is also in charge and the master mind of game in the end of season three where she makes Betty, Veronica, Jughead and Archie play the game in the woods and to overcome fears from the game.

 

Self-sufficient- She is a single mother who is going to make decisions that will benefit her and her only.  She is a cold hearted and vicious women who will do whatever it taken to do whats best for herself.

 

 

In Conclusion

In Conclusion Penelope is someone who leads towards the more masculine side of the Bem Sex Role Inventory list. She is a Dominant and aggressive individual who cares only about herself and no one else.
