In this post I will be explaining the Sex Role Traits of Hirum Lodge one of the Main Character in the teen Drama Riverdale using the Items of the Bem Sex Role Inventory.

 

Hirum Lodge is one of the main character in the show Riverdale. Throughout his time on the 4 seasons we have seen him develop as the father in prison to the sneaky and suspicious, he buys all of the south side of Riverdale and is going to turn it into a prison where he can use the prisoners for free labor to make his drugs. For all he has been put through with his past and the involvement with several mobs and gangs that strike Riverdale, he has some very strong traits that I’m excited to uncover.

 

Feminine

Loyal- Hirum is someone who is loyal to himself. He cares about his own financial needs and is going to do whatever it takes to get what he wants. He is loyal to his business partners (mob members and gang drug dealers) he makes deals and is know for keeping his word.

 

Feminine- Hirum is always dressed in a suit and tie and never has a hair out of place. The only time we see him in anything other than a suit is when he’s exercising.

 

Not susceptible to flattery- Hirum is always doing business and is not swayed by compliment or flattery. He is strictly business no matte what.

 

Masculine

Assertive- When Hirum is making a business deal or is speaking he is assertive in his tone and the way he presents himself. He is someone who always means business.

 

Dominant- Hirum is someone who is not afraid to use force and is someone who is not afraid of being in charge, no matter what the situation is. He is someone who went into the country neighboring towns and recruited entire cities to build his prisons and continue to work there after.

 

Aggressive- Hirum is not someone who is going to wait around for someone else to make a move. He is always ahead of everyone else as Betty would say “we are always one step behind”.

 

In Conclusion 

Hirum is more masculine in response to the Bem sex Role Inventory list. It was hard for me to find feminine traits for him because he is so masculine and aggressive in his business and private life.
