Examples of Masculine Personality Traits Exhibited by Macy Vaughn:

  • Assertive: Macy tells their new Whitelighter, Tessa, that she plans to keep her demonic side, rather than strip herself of it, which the Elders want her to. She also asserts herself when deciding how to save a newly-returned Galvin from a Yoruba demon that has possessed him.
  • Leadership ability: Macy takes the Yoruba artifacts that Galvin brought back to Mama Roz for help with what demon/magical creature may have been in them.
  • Acts as a leader: Macy is able to stop Galvin’s heart, get the demonic spirit out of him, and restart his heart all by herself, all according to her own plan. However, it also represents a new turning point in Macy’s demonic powers, and it ends up scaring Galvin.

Examples of Feminine Personality Traits Exhibited by Macy Vaughn:

  • Affectionate: Macy is joyful when Galvin returns, and gives him a big hug upon his arrival. She also hugs Maggie when discussing her bi-racial identity.
  • Compassionate: Macy discuss what it means to be “Black,” as Maggie is now trying to understand more about her bi-racial identity while applying for cultural scholarships.
  • Soft-spoken: After Galvin breaks up with her at the end of the episode, Macy is incredibly sad, but is able to open up to her sisters a bit about it.

Conclusion: Galvin’s return signals a new chapter in Macy’s character arc, as she is now more sure of her part-witch/part-demon heritage, and doesn’t want to let go of her darkness. Since Harry is off with Fiona this episode, there is also a chance for Macy to focus more on and bond with her sisters, specifically talking with Maggie about her bi-racial identity as a woman with Black and Puerto Rican ancestry, which dovetails back into Macy’s own struggles with her witch/demon identity as well, and telling both Maggie and Mel about her breakup with Galvin.
