Examples of Masculine Personality Traits Exhibited by Macy Vaughn:

  • Acts as leader/has leadership abilities: Under new lab management, Macy is promoted to head lab supervisor. After being told to fire Galvin, she is able to figure out a solution in the budget to keep him on. Macy also uses her scientific expertise in this episode to track a “shadow demon” through the residue it left behind. She also figures out how to track down the last piece of the Scythe of Tartarus using bees that are drawn to magnetic fields.
  • Independence/strong personality: Macy admits to her sisters that she feels ashamed about what this inner “darkness” could mean, but only shares this information after significant prodding and Mel and Maggie finding out that Macy found a magical key hidden by their mother that calls out to the Scythe.

Examples of Feminine Personality Traits Exhibited by Macy Vaughn:

  • Gentle/affectionate: Macy refers to Maggie as “little sister” when giving her advice on how to proceed with her blossoming romantic relationship with Parker.
  • Sympathetic/sensitive to others’ needs: When Macy is told by the new lab management that she needs to lay off Galvin, Macy immediately protests, saying, “But we’re friends!” She is immediately overtaken by her personal feelings, rather than being professional in this moment.

Conclusion: Macy is mostly in the background of this episode, as much of the plot revolves around Maggie and Mel. However, it is clear that even in the background, Macy is still struggling with the reveal that she has “darkness” inside her. Despite this, she is still able to maintain a firm grasp on balancing her professional life and her witch duties as a Charmed One, perhaps showing how Macy has always been able to adapt in difficult situations.
