InĀ Infernal Guinea Pig, we see the return of Lucifer and Pierce’s deal. In a wild turn of events, Pierce’s brother Abel comes back from the dead in the body of a young woman. Let me explain… Lucifer’s plan was to use his angel wings to fly down to hell, scoop up Abel’s soul, and drop it into the body of a recently deceased elderly person. Unfortunately, the murder victim of the most recent case was in the same hospital room and became inhabited by Abel. The goal was to have Abel kill Pierce (Cain) to reverse the curse put on him by God. Pierce/Cain is the world’s first murderer, and Abel was the world’s first murder victim. Because of this, Pierce/Cain bears the curse and cannot ever die. So basically, Abel is back in the body of a woman who is supposed to be dead, which changes the case. A Hollywood producer’s assistant, Bree/Abel, was fatally injured by a bomb that seemed to be meant for the producer. After a wicked episode, we end at the final standoff, which showed us that there was a safe only Bree/Abel can open with her/his fingerprint. Inside was a bomb meant to kill Bree/Abel and the producer which would be set off the second Bree/Abel’s finger is removed from the scanner. Inside this room are Pierce, Bree/Abel, Chloe, and Lucifer. Pierce is immortal so he opts to stay in with Bree/Abel in a brotherly fashion but Chloe decides to stay in as well, much to Lucifer’s displeasure. Eventually, everything is figured out and all is well, but Lucifer is still mad that his deal with Pierce put Chloe in the line of fire. He dissolves the deal with Pierce, who is surprised but understanding.
In this episode, we see Lucifer go through with a deal with a person he basically hates. That is highly uncharacteristic for Lucifer, but at the same time it makes sense as he was doing so to help himself. His wish was to spite his father, maybe to get a reaction, and he had no problem using Pierce to get there. While the deal ended up not working out, it shows the camaraderie of Lucifer. He might have a hard exterior at times, but he has pure intentions deep down. Being a good friend is a good trait to have, regardless of gender.
