This is the official movie poster for the first Captain America Marvel film.

  1. Relative size- Captain America is front and center of the poster with the largest full body shot however the villain, Red Skull, takes on the largest size on the poster pictured looking over the other characters like some sort of ‘sinister god.’
  2. Feminine touch- Not present as the only female Peggy Carter is gripping a gun in a dominant pose
  3. Function ranking- Present. Despite Peggy Carter being listed second for scene credits, just in front of her on the poster is Colonel Chester Phillips.
  4. The family- Not present
  5. Ritualization of subordination- Arguably present. Looking at the poster, Peggy Carter is under the heads of Captain America, Bucky, and the Colonel.
  6. Licensed withdrawal- The three characters that maintain eye contact with the viewer are Captain American, Red Skull, and the Colonel.

Note: The characters maintaining eye contact are all characters who are in positions of power. Also, it could be argued that RoS isn’t present and could just be chalked up to the pose chosen for the poster just so happened to put Peggy slightly under the other characters.
