The media seen here is an ad from Zara.com for a women’s shirt. To me it seems like a nice shirt to wear to work because if you would scroll down to the third image the shirt can cover more of the chest which would make it work friendly. Of course because it is an advertisement for a women’s shirt it just has to be sexualized when really it is a work appropriate shirt. I have a problem with the way that this shirt is modeled on the woman. 1. She is on the ground kind of sitting up which makes her look up which to me is giving me a little weakness aspect as if she is looking helpless. 2. Her legs are wide open which to me is a bit sexualized when all she is doing is selling a shirt. This image is not doing a good job of selling the shirt, I feel very distracted looking at her because of her pose. This connects to the sex role theory because of how helpless she looks. Compared to the man who is fully dressed this shows that men don’t sell clothes with their bodies but more with their looks but with women, they sell clothes with their bodies rather than just faces.
