Background: Telltales The Walking Dead is an interactive series released in 2012 by Telltale Studios. While Telltale is now known for their episodic video games that allow the player to make decisions that have lasting effects on the story, this game was their first big hit.

Plot: A man named Lee is being transported to prison when the car crashes and he discovers that the world is in turmoil as an infection turns people into zombies. Lee wanders around town before meeting a young girl Clementine, whose parents are missing. Lee decides to watch over the girl, and they soon band together with others to form a group of survivors.

Bechdel Test: The Walking Dead passes the Bechdel Test. Though the only playable character is Lee, the Walking dead has multiple unique female characters that fulfill many different types of roles in the story. While there are a few characters that fulfill traditional roles like caring mother or innocent daughter, other characters fall outside the usual norms. Two examples of this are the characters of Lilly and Carley. Carley is a news reporter who is portrayed as an ally early on to the player, and the other is Lilly, who is very antagonistic for most of the game. Both characters are very strong willed and capable. One scene that they share has them discussing what to do with with rations. Lilly states that they should share equally, while Lilly says that more should go to the adults then the children so that they can stand a better chance at finding more food for everyone.
