Background: Resident Evil 3 is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom that released in April 3rd, 2020. It is a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999) and is the most recent entry in the series.
Plot: Set many months after the first gam in the series, the story revolves around Jill Valentine, one of the two optional protagonists of in the first game. Jill is attacked in her apartment by a monster that is trying to kill all of the former members of her old squad. She meets a fellow solider named Carlos and the two of them attempt to help evacuate the city.
Bechdel Test: This game does not pass the Bechdel Test. Once again, Jill is one of the only female characters in the game, and the only female protagonist. However, this game’s story revolves primarily around her, with Carlos ending up with less screen time and development. Once again, Jill is shown to be extremely capable and resourceful, and end up getting being the one to defeat both of the game’s main villains. Like the first game, Jill is not paired up with a love interest and instead is focused on surviving and defeating the antagonists. Though Jill is in civilian clothes for most of the game, her outfits are practical and not sexualized.
