Background: Modern Warfare was released in 2019 by developer Infinity War and publisher Activision as the latest entry to the COD franchise. Though it shares the name and a few of the characters as the 2007 original, this game is a reboot.
Plot: This game centers around a rotating cast of special ops and resistance fighters as they cooperate to take down a global biochemical terrorist group.
Bechdel Test: Unlike the original game, this title features numerous female characters, and passes the Bechdel test. Of the games multiple protagonists, only one is female. This character is a freedom fighter named Farah in the Middle East who has a personal conflict with one of the leaders of the terrorist group and leads a group of resistance fighters. In multiple scenes of the game, Farah and a female superior of the U.S. forces in plan out different strategies on how to best attack the terrorist group. This game also has the option to play as different female operatives in it’s online multiplayer.
