In this post we will examine how Anck-Su-Namun breaks gender stereotypes toward the end of the film.

At the end of the film Anck-Su-Namun stabs Evelyn, killing her. Anck-Su-Namun shows no emotion during the actual stabbing but a moment later she gives a smug expression to Evelyn’s son.

Anck-Su-Namun breaks gender stereotypes two ways in this instance; She’s showing little emotion while committing a cruel act and her interaction with a child is far from nurturing.
