Episode three passes the Bechdel Test.

  • In the opening scene, Jane knocks on Xo’s bedroom door, and she asks Xo for her wedges. The door is locked because Xo was having sex with Janes dad.  At this point, Jane doesn’t know who her father is.  During this conversation, Jane and Xo do not talk about a man.  In the same scene, Alba takes Jane away from the bedroom door by asking her about Jane and Michael’s wedding.  Both of these examples pass the Bechdel test.
  • Criteria:
    1. Two women who have names: Xo and Jane
    2. Talk to each other: Xo and Jane are talking to each other
    3. About something besides a man: They are talking about Shoes
