In this episode of How I Met Your Mother was titled “Rough Patch” which was about Barney Stinson the sex crazed bachelor getting into a relationship with another one of the shows main characters Robin Scherbatsky. The problem is the episode gives a negative connotation to being in a committed relationship. It describes that being in a relationship completely changes the person you are and eventually destroys you if your stubborn enough you will continue your spiral down. This is shown as Robin doesn’t put on makeup anymore or take care of her hair and Barney gains a lot of weight and becomes boring with his friends. This episode may use the objectification of relationship and the problems that come with being in a committed relationship.
