In Season 3 episode 11 of the Office, Michael Scott meets a girl that was a waitress at the hibachi restaurant that he was at, and brings her to the office Christmas party as a rebound from his old girlfriend. After Andy continues to flirt with the waitress, Cindy, for Michael, he decides to bring her back to the office and make her his new girlfriend. He even goes as far as to give her the bike that is being donated. This episode relates directly to gaze theory because Michael only brought her back because she was “cute.” Cindy also brought a friend that looks a lot like her, and he realized that he could not tell the difference between the two of them because he knew nothing about either one. Later in the episode he says “When you know you just know… Look at her!” and he still couldn’t deciders them. He ended up marking her arm with a sharpie because he did not know who she was. He never even called her by her name because I am pretty sure he forgot it.
