Season 1 Episode 8
Summary:
Abbi and Ilana are heading to a wedding in Connecticut however; they have some trouble along the way. They had tickets for a train but went to the wrong station, so they are running around the city trying to find a way to get to the wedding. They end up on a bus where fresh crab spills all over them. There is no chance they will make the wedding, so Ilana and Abbi have a night of fun on their own.
Masculine:
Wardrobe:
- Ilana wears a suit at the start of the day and presents herself in a more masculine way. Typically, women don’t wear suits in television, especially with confidence. Abbi changed into an extra suit that Ilana had in her backpack later in the episode. As they were sulking about missing the wedding, they stumbled upon a gentlemen’s club and got in due to their clothing. The setting of any gentlemen’s club is not a place where women are. Through the sex role perspective, we can see that Abbi and Ilana reject feminine stereotypes and show that women can be ‘manly’ too.
Feminine:
- Abbi wears a beautiful gown for the wedding and has her hair up in feminine way. She has heels on and a clutch in hand which stayed together until the crab was spilled.
