This episode sees a nice little bromance between Lucifer and Pierce, who seem to hate each other most of the time. We find ourselves with a murder in a cute suburban area that is seemingly perfect. To go undercover, two people need to pose as a couple moving in to get to the bottom of things… Chloe had already canvassed the area so who else but Lucifer and Pierce? They play a happy, sort of, couple and the neighbors eat it up. How delightful! They even bicker like an old married couple, it’s so exciting to watch. At one point, they argue about the placement of the furniture in typical Lucifer fashion. By the end of their time as a “couple,” they find the murderer, who was the next-door neighbor just trying to keep her marriage intact. The power of love!
This episode has the perfect example of Lucifer escaping his masculinity for his more feminine side. Past episodes have shown us that Lucifer is not straight nor is he gay, he just likes everything when it comes to sex and affection if you know what I mean. Lucifer has no problem showing every part of who he is for us lucky viewers. It’s nice to see Lucifer and Pierce in this episode get along just enough to solve a murder and, while they might not be able to stand each other, we as the audience can tell that a fantastic friendship is forming. Slowly but surely. Tune in next time!
