In the season finale of Killing Eve, Eve tries to track down Eve, who has kidnapped Konstantin’s daughter. In the beginning of the episode, Eve shows assertiveness and a willingness to take risks by confronting Carolyn. She shows these same traits when she points a gun at Konstantin and questions him about his involvement with Villanelle. Finally, she shows assertiveness and forcefulness when she stabs Villanelle at the end of the episode. These are all masculine traits. She does show the feminine trait of compassion when she regrets stabbing her and tries to help her.
In class, we recently talked about the effect media can have regarding how people see gender. In this show, Villanelle is depicted as being bisexual, and it is hinted that Eve is as well. People watching these characters with nontraditional roles can reduce stereotypes and increase tolerance towards bisexual women.
