Here is an advertisement from Polo Ralph Lauren for when I pressed Men’s clothing. Here, the men are all in suits and they seem very professional and self reliant. The sex role theory is involved here because of how the men are portrayed. The men are very independent looking because of the faces the photographer chose to photograph them in. Even the words below the picture say ” Tailored for the Gentleman”. Gentleman and suits are correlated. The men also look dominant and look like they are willing to take a stand with what is right. They look trust worthy because of their poses and their gazes at the camera. Also, the men in the picture are all buttoned up to their collars while the women in the ad have 3 or 2 buttons down when the goal is professional clothing. This shows that women and men have different roles in society.
