In this post I will be explaining the Sex Role Traits of FP Jones one of the Main Character in the teen Drama Riverdale using the Items of the Bem Sex Role Inventory.

 

FP Jones is one of the main character in the show Riverdale. Throughout his time on the 4 seasons we have seen him develop as the harsh, absent father and Southside Serpent gang leader, develop into an active father who turns into the Sherif of Riverdale. For all he has been put through with his past and the tragedies that strike Riverdale, he has some very strong traits that I’m excited to uncover.

 

Feminine

Loyal- FP Jones is a character who is very loyal to the Serpents and lack in loyalty when it comes to family. He is willing to go to jail for a crime he sis not commit in order to protect the Serpents. He also is committed to being the leader of the Gang even though he could do jail time for being on probation and being involved with the gang.

 

Understanding- With all of the horrible things that happen in the series he is always understanding of the circumstances and always willing to hear all the information. His son Jughead along the way makes a few poor decisions and is always is understanding of why the situation happened or why it had to happen.

 

Compassionate- We see FP Jones get involved with his high school  love interest and what he finds to be the mother of a son he never knew he had. They are seen in bed… a lot. Which is weird because Mrs. Cooper ( the baby momma) and FP also have other kids who are dating, Betty is Mrs. Coopers daughter and Jughead is FP’s son and they also share a half brother… awkward.

 

 

Masculine 

Leadership ability- He is not only the Gang leader or the Serpents he also becomes the sherif of Riverdale. He takes leadership to a whole new role and level of leadership when it comes to the protection of Riverdale.

 

Willing to take risks- He is someone who put his own life on the line, in the murder case of Jason Blossom Clifford Blossom (jason’s dad) threatens Jughead and FP does as Clifford says because he threatens that Jughead will end up how Jason did and Jason is dead so he took the risk of spending the rest of his life in jail and he was willing to take that risk.

 

Masculine- FP Jones is a man, a true man, he is tall dark and handsome. He is in a biker gang and doesn’t care what anyone has to say about him or what he does. He also rides a motorcycle and can be seen fighting with his fists and winning… a lot.

 

In Conclusion 

FP Jones leans more to the Masculine side of Bem Sex Role Inventory list. He is masculine, a leader and willing to take risks for his friends, family and gang and that makes him more masculine than feminine.
