So this episode features more of Mazikeen, Lucifer’s sexy demon sidekick, more than the man himself. Regardless, there is still something to be said about his actions throughout the episode! Mazikeen throws herself into bounty hunting, as a violent demon would, and sets her sights on a new target – Ben Rivers, wanted for killing two teens. He is attractive, charming, and Lucifer doesn’t understand why. Interesting how the devil himself feels a sense of competition with a mere mortal who doesn’t posses the qualities of th devil. Scoff. Makes me wonder what goes on in his head. This is definitely an example of Lucifer’s masculinity, as most men love to compete with one another. Lucifer encourages Maze to find this man and to “burn brighter,” while everyone else is worried about her. Of course there’s nothing to be worried about, but only Lucifer knows that. However, by the end of the episode, Maze has appeared to fall for this mortal man which worries Lucifer endlessly. Maybe he’s not so masculine after all with all of this compassion, compassion he tries so hard to hide behind witty comments and his sexual escapades. The show finishes with Maze giving Rivers a kiss and biding him goodbye, to which Lucifer says, “He broke my Maze!” There comes the masculinity again, shown in the possessiveness he holds for his comrade.

While this episode doesn’t focus on the devil himself, it demonstrates that Lucifer does care for more than himself. He throws himself into Maze’s life as an aim to help her find herself more or less. He shows compassion in the way that he cares for her which makes sense, companion wise, but not for Lucifer. He is blown away by the charm of Rivers, even knowing that as the devil, he is more charming than even the most attractive mortal man on Earth. His actions in this episode show that he is like a diamond in that he has many faces; however, he concerns himself in which side shines the most while hiding the other facets of his personality.
