In this episode of How I Met Your Mother it starts with Robin and the rest of the gang heading into the pub and talking about their love lives. Robin decides to go on a blind date and is taken out to dinner by a man named Mitch. Robin has a good time with Mitch but does not quite see anything there. She invites him up to her apartment for a bit and when she turns away for a short moment of time, she returns to find Mitch naked on the couch. She is stunned and immediately asks what he is doing. Mitch explains that it is a part of his move called the “Naked Man” and that he does it on women when he wants to get laid and that it works ⅔ times he has tried it. Mitch is eventually asked to leave and exists as Robin tells the story to her friends at the bar. Ted begins to think the idea is interesting and tries the move a few times throughout the episode and it surprisingly works. The point I am trying to make is that this is one of the very few episodes when the rules may be reversed when it comes to male gaze theory. Instead of women being objectified for their body’s men are trying out the naked man tactic throughout the episode.
