In this episode of How I Met Your Mother Robin Scherbatsky comes into the apartment with Ted and turns on a show to show Ted. It is a game show where the host asks a contestant to flip a coin for a million dollars. The camera points at a woman in a revealing dress going to flip a coin but mess it up. Ted immediately calls her a coin bimbo while Robin proclaims that she is a coin rotation specialist. This goes towards male gaze theory because the job that Robin applied for is basically a job occupied by women. The job entails wearing revealing clothing and being sexualized while flipping a coin on national television. This indicates the gender roles of society and the jobs women are “supposed” to have.
