Sex Role Analysis:
- At the birthday party Stewie attends almost all of the parents in attendance are females
- Moms are the ones who care for the children
- Lois is shown in the kitchen cooking dinner
Worth noting:
- When Brian is pretending to be a magician, Stewie acts as the assistant. He dresses up as a girl with a red tight dress
- Stereotype of a male magician and sexy assistant
- Also could be seen as a sort of function ranking from Goffman’s analysis
- Brian (the man) is magician, while Stewie (portraying the girl) is the assistant
- Meg is forced to watch “the other 178 hours of Monty Python stuff that isn’t funny or memorable.”
- Meg is shown saying “I’m a girl! I don’t even like the good Monty Python sketches”
- Women have a different humor/don’t like things that a lot of men find funny
