Quick summary of episode:

Meg turns 18 and Quagmire swoops in and tries to seduce her. This causes quite a rift in Peter and Quagmire’s friendship. Lois wants Peter to let it go because she believes that meg is just using Quagmire to get a rise out of them, but after she finds out that Quagmire is taking Meg to his “sex cabin”, she realizes she is wrong. She and Peter race against the clock to get Meg back before it’s too late.

Sex Role Analysis/Stereotypes:

  • All the female nominees and hosts are scantily clad
    • Hypersexualized- resists stereotypes or brings awareness to the trend that for women to be famous they need to have perfect bodies and are minimally dressed

Worth noting:

  • Teen Choice Awards:
    • Not one teen boy there, all screaming, crazy, teen girls
  • “A scented candle?! As a girl I love this!” -Meg
    • Resists stereotype; portrays the love for scented candles to be a trait all women have
  • Boys will be boys: “Quagmire will bang anything”
    • When Peter talks to Quagmire about staying away from Meg, Quagmire’s response is its who he is and that asking him not to sleep with Meg is like “asking a fish not to swim”
  • “Everyone knows if you go away with a guy for the weekend and don’t have sex with him, you’re a huge b****” -Lois
    • Social expectations of women; and from another woman
