In episode eleven, a neighbor is missing, so all the ladies do what they can to help while each of the girls deal with their own problems. 

This episode would pass the Bechdel test. 

  • There are four main characters that are girls 
  • The four girls are all neighbors and close friends, so they interact almost daily
  • In this episode, two ladies on the street talked about one of their sister’s deaths. 

Bree

  • Feminine characteristics: yielding, not susceptible to flattery, understanding, compassionate, eager to soothe hurt feelings, soft-spoken, loves children 
    • Although her husband betrayed her, she is still caring for and respecting him. She ensures her children that she still respects him and they should too. 
  • Masculine characteristics: willing to take risks, makes decisions easily, willing to take a stand, individualistic, competitive, ambitious 
    • Bree goes on a date with her pharmacist in order to get back at her husband for his affair.

Susan

  • Feminine characteristics: yielding, cheerful, affectionate, compassionate, eager to soothe hurt feelings, loves children 
    • Susan invites her ex-husband to their daughter’s birthday party as he was dumped by his mistress. She gets an epiphany and realizes that she is in love with Mike, as he is with her. 
  • Masculine characteristics: willing to take risks, makes decisions easily, competitive, ambitious 
    • Susan discovers that her ex-husband had more mistresses than the one she knew of. She gets on stage at karaoke to embarrass him. 

Lynette

  • Feminine characteristics: eager to soothe hurt feelings, understanding, loves children, loyal
    • Lynette cares for her family while also having the nanny to help. She is very understanding with her husband accidentally seeing the nanny naked. 
  • Masculine characteristics: willing to take a stand 
    • Lynette confronts her husband about him having a crush on their nanny. 

Gabby 

  • Feminine characteristics: feminine, loyal 
    • Gabby begins modeling again as she and Carlos have all their bank accounts frozen. She stays very loyal to Carlos while he is in jail. 
  • Masculine characteristics: strong personality, makes decisions easily, self-sufficient
    • Gabby gets a job again and is doing well on her own until she runs behind on the bills. She finds Carlos’s passport, that she had previously tried to burn, to get him out on bail.
