This episode is almost entirely without dialogue. As BoJack enters the sea to attend more publicity events for the secretariat you begin to notice there is no conversation, only noises, and visuals. As the episode continues, BoJack finds himself in a number of dilemmas. The most noticeable ones are with Kelsey and the child that BoJack finds.
Because there is almost no dialogue in this episode, it fails the Bechdel test. There is no girl to girl conversation, but there is a mentioning of their names. That doesn’t go to say there are gender stereotypes in the episode. Actually, one of the most notable opposite stereotypes is when the seahorse dad gives birth (instead of mother) and takes care of all the children (instead of the mother). There is also the stereotype of men taking more meaningful positions, when he attends the publicity event it is mostly men there because it consists of notable actors and directors.
