In this post I will be explaining the Sex Role Traits of Jughead Jones, one
of the Main Character in the teen Drama Riverdale using the Items of the
Bem Sex Role Inventory.
Jughead Jones is one of the main character in the show Riverdale.
Throughout his time on the 4 seasons we have seen him develop as the
homeless boy who loves to write to leader of the Southside Serpents Gang.
He spends his time throughout the seasons uncovering mysteries of the
town of Riverdale with his girlfriend Betty. For all he has been put through
with his drunk and deadbeat father and the tragedies that strike Riverdale
he has some very strong traits that I’m excited to uncover.
Feminine
Shy- Jughead is always the kid in the corner getting information from
gossip that flows through pops. He does not like to be in the spotlight like
Veronica. He doesn’t like to ask for help, he would rather not draw
attention to himself.
Loyal- He is loyal to Betty and the Serpents. Jughead would die for the
Serpents and in seasons three he almost does. He is Loyal to Betty and
their relationship and want to be there for her every moment he can.
Gullible- When trying to help his dad get out of jail for being framed for a
murder he did not commit he gets tangled with a Snake Charmer who is a
Lawyer who helps Jughead but does not take a payment she tells him that
he will do a favor for her which leads to her having him deliver drugs.
Masculine
Leadership ability- Jughead is the leader of the Serpents and one of the
directors and investigators for the school paper the Blue and Gold. He
helps decide the decisions or the gang and the community he lives in.
Willing to take a stand- He is willing to be the person to stand up for the
social injustice that is in the town of Riverdale. He leads several protest
and causes that need to be voiced through action. He takes a stand to try
and end the fued between the Serpents and the Ghoulies.
Analytical- Jughead like to have all the details and all the information he
could possibly get when investigating about a story. In the fourth season
Jughead opens an investigation on the school StoneWall Prep, which
attends for the first half of his senior year. He uncovers the several
murders that have happened throughout the decades of the Baxter Brother
Book franchise and the connection to the school and the stonewall five.
In conclusion Jughead Jones is more Masculine than feminine is
correlation with the Sex Bem Role Theory Inventory. I think his
determination and investigation in this serious shows how smart he is,
how he like to be the leader to the end even willing to die and the fact that
he is so passionate about what he believes in and how hard he is going to
fight for that makes him Masculine.
