Sex Role Analysis:

  • Lois
    • Comes home from shopping for domestic products (bed sheets)
  • When Brian meets Tom Tucker to discuss Chris getting in trouble, Tom says “Can my wife get you anything?”
    • Wife is the caretaker there to serve the husband and guests

Worth noting:

  • Brian is left in charge of watching Meg, Chris and Stewie, but he needs help. So Stewie helps him and they end up taking on roles as sort of an old married couple:
    • At night in bed Stewie is embroidering and Brian is reading a book
    • Stewie asks Brian “do you think we were too harsh on him”
    • “Stereotypical old married couple”
  • In a cut away, Peter is seen trying to convince the government to go to war, he says: “Anyone who doesn’t want to go to war is gay”
    • Back when “gay” was used as an insult
    • Immediately all the men wanted to go to war and one says, “I was the first one to want to go to war!”
      • Men afraid of being called “gay”
      • Used as an insult to imply that they were less masculine, “weaker”, more feminine, and they were afraid to be seen that way
