This episode begins around the premise of “Mr. Peanutbutter” and “Diane’s” relationship. As the both of them return from a seminar about women solidarity, “Mr. Peanutbutter” has a surprise for Diane, that being a surprise birthday party. “Diane” is not happy with his decision as she is very fond about not having any other events that night. So all of the main characters recognize the tension and decide to leave the party each with their companion, this episode is focused on the relationships between the main characters. Each set of characters get a portion of the episode and express their relational concerns. Because all of the characters are straight, all of the conversations are between a man and a women so we can conclude that this episode fails the Bechdel test. They actually do a good job not creating gender stereotypes in this episode. The one exception in this episode might be the carelessness of “BoJack” when he hits a deer and obviously doesn’t want to help. This shows how men are perceived as more careless and the opposite can be said for the woman in the particular scene.
