In this post, I will be analyzing Amelia Shepherd in season 11 episode 2 of Greys Anatomy titled Puzzle with a Piece Missing. I will be looking to see If in this episode if Amelia passes the Bechdel test along with how she is portrayed if she is seen as more feminine or masculine. Amelia is first seen talking to Maggie Pierce in the hospital as they discuss what to do with their female patient. Along with the first quick interaction, Amelia also talks to April about the patient. The second interaction Amelia has is again with Maggie as this time it is a lengthy discussion which leads to them bonding. For this episode, Amelia passes the Bechdel test. Amelia is authoritative when she is figuring out what to do with her patient showing more of a masculine trait. However, she is compassionate and sympathetic to her friend who is struggling with fitting in which shows a more feminine side.
