ST. NORBERT ITS DEPARTMENT
I have had the privilege to work two jobs for the Academic Technology Department for the ITS department. Since the fall of 2019, I have had the opportunity to work as a Tech Bar Consultant. Through this position, I have the ability to teach students one-on-one about different digital literacies including Virtual Reality. During the summer of 2019, I had the ability to present at the Reclaim Hosting Domains Conference in Durham, North Carolina about the St. Norbert Domains program and how it connects to Full Spectrum Learning as well.
From the fall of 2018 to the spring of 2021, I was a research fellow for an initiative on campus called Full Spectrum Learning. Through this research, I was able to attend the 2019 Digital Pedagogy Lab at the University of Mary Washington in Virginia. During this lab conference, I had the ability to take a course on Open Pedagogy and analyze and understand the benefits this style of teaching can have on students. I also had the opportunity to present virtually for the Bryn Mawr College Blended Learning Conference in the summer of 2020.
SCHREIBER FOODS
During the summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to be a Student Resource for the Information Systems (IS) department at Schreiber Foods. Throughout the summer I was able to work on a variety of projects including creating a Lab Request Form for the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Project through Word Developer using Macros and ActiveX Controls, programming notification reports for Optiva using HTML and CSS, and worked the reception desk answering calls and assisting visitors.
I was asked to come back in October of 2019 until January 2020 to revamp the HEAT Change Approver System and create relationships between the CMBD objects.
Unfortunately, I was unable to return during the summer of 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but I’m thankful for the projects I was able to help out with and the experiences I had.
