Headlines were too much, so instead we devised a bolded lead-in phrase\u00a0(there&#8217;s probably a term for it)\u00a0to signal each item. And then I had to write seven of them.<\/p>\n<p>The Table of Contents is pretty much the last thing we do, print-wise, and by that stage I&#8217;m all out of words. &#8220;In retrospect.&#8221; I wrote. &#8220;In detail.&#8221; &#8220;In her own words.&#8221; Oh no. I was stuck in a groove. Repetitive, humdrum &#8211; unless. Unless I owned it. &#8220;In conversation.&#8221; &#8220;In hindsight.&#8221; What a lot of useful phrases there are that star this tiny preposition! In perspective, in love, in might and majesty, in too deep, in a nutshell, in class, in dubious battle, in all shapes and sizes, in a minute, in the nick of time, in their own world, in step, in a case in point, in line, in shape, in good order, in his cups, in the cold light of day, in all truth, in 1 John 4:16 &#8230; In all seriousness, I&#8217;m not sure I&#8217;ve had enough fun with this next issue&#8217;s crop, just generated late on a Friday evening. But here it is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>In living color:<\/strong> Prospective students meet the St. Norbert college experience, 2013-style <strong>(page 6)<\/strong>, in this fast-paced video.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In retrospect:<\/strong> A look back over the careers of St. Norbert\u2019s eight living alumni generals <strong>(page 6)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In pictures:<\/strong> Commencement 2013: a proud day.\u00a0<strong>(Page 9)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In some detail: John Gordon<\/strong> (Art) and the iconic Green Bay Packers \u201cG\u201d<strong>(page 10)<\/strong>: a St. Norbert story from start to finish.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In season:<\/strong> Seems that, as soon as May arrives, it\u2019s time to don, in turn: flip-flops and shorts; a winning attitude (for campus golf and more); a studious air (for Finals Week); cap and gown (for Commencement). Our photographers were there to capture it all <strong>(page 11)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In conclusion:<\/strong> Departing college leaders reflect on their careers in higher education, the lay of the land in 2013, and the challenges ahead <strong>(page 13)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>In touch: <\/strong>Marketing maven<strong> Dana Vanden Heuvel \u201999 (page 16) <\/strong>considers the \u201cmobile-social generation\u201d and the way we buy now.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In conversation and song:<\/strong> Gerard Edery, a specialist in the music of the Sephardic Jews worldwide, is a master musician himself <strong>(page 31).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If there is something here you&#8217;d like to enjoy, not too long to wait: The new issue comes out in short order, in its season, in due course \u2013 in three weeks, in fact.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When we redesigned our print-issue Table of Contents page we found we needed an unobtrusive way of differentiating the various online extras listed.
