This is her way of showing her care and concern for him.<\/li>\n<li>Hope asks Jack to talk to Preacher because she says that Preacher will listen to her. This could be the difference because she is a woman and he is a man.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Masculine:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jack is chopping wood. This is more of a manly thing to do because it represents physical labor, specifically outdoor labor, which is typically thought of as a men&#8217;s duty.<\/li>\n<li>Jack is very protective of Mel and tells her that he will protect her from the drug growing farm workers.<\/li>\n<li>Jack does not believe he was having a night terror because he sees that as more unmanly.
