As individuals we understand through general social discourse, what it means to be a man. This particular form of media portrays a grown actor in a light that makes him seem small. For one, he is seen in the ad on some sort of a talk show in which his co-stars and the host make jokes about his scrawny appearance. Going back to the social discourse in which our perception is derived, we know that it is\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Related to power norms<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Involves language and social practices<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It produces knowledge<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Going back to ad, it gives us a good representation of the fact that people are expected to look and behave a certain way because of their gender.
